Installation Instructions
Mac OS X users - You know what to do.

Windows users - If you do not have a Zip program that allows you
to unzip compressed files, then you should first install 7-Zip.
It will allow you to unzip files for installation. Firebird,, and Thunderbird cannot be installed until they are
unzipped. All other Windows software on this CD takes the form of
self-executing .exe installation programs. For those files just
double-click the file name.

WINDOWS 98 USERS: Not all of these programs may work for you. In
particular, you should go to and get
OpenOffice instead of the 1.1 build provided on the CD.

WINDOWS NT/ME USERS: Who knows what will work for you? Time to try
GNU/Linux: Go to and take your pick. Many 1st
time users like Knoppix because it is commitment-free. You run it
from the CD without altering your hard-drive. This allows you to see
if Knoppix will recognize all your hardware and if you like it. If not,
no harm done. If so, then you can proceed to install it to the hard drive.
Also, Mandrake and Lycoris have good reputations for new GNU/Linux users.'er brianwc can personally vouch for extremely easy installations
with both SuSE and Fedora, but he personally uses Debian, which is hard to

WINDOWS 95 USERS: You're kidding, right?

Some Mac users have reported problems with this version of Cyberduck. While
contributing your bug reports to Cyberduck's author can only help make it better,
we also recommend that Mac users try Fugu, another Free FTP client.
